Dodging the rain for more families

When I heard there was a chance for rain this week, I was checking weather updates online and on the news regularly. Then when I heard there was rain predicted for yesterday, I started to bite my nails because I had several sessions booked. My nerves were put to ease when I later heard it was going to be at night....after my sessions. Whew!(as I wipe my forehead). Well I was extremely happy to shoot this family session....beautiful family, beautiful fall colors, and beautiful weather! What more can a gal ask for??? Here is a sneak peek of a few from this session. Enjoy!

More Family Portraits

So Thanksgiving week has been busy, busy, busy for me with family portraits....thankfully so far Mother Nature has been cooperative with me and my sessions. When I woke up the morning of this family portrait session, I was greeted with fog. But I wasn't too worried since we were shooting by the river, I figured it would be clear out there....and it sure was! Not only was it clear but the spot the family chose to shoot was BEAUTIFUL!! Not to mention the family was awesome....some were even daring enough to climb out to a log where we got some gorgeous shots! Here are a few from the session!

Family Portrait

You know I feel so lucky because I have some of the greatest clients. Earlier this year, I did a family portrait session with this family and feel honored that they asked me to photograph them again now that their family is growing with a new baby and a new fiance. Not only is this family great but they are all so photogenic....I tell you I love my job! Here are some favorites from our family/enagement sessions! Enjoy!

One way to say "Thanks"!

One new item that I am offering my wedding clients is a special shot on your wedding day that helps you say "Thank You" to all your guests for the awesome gifts they will be giving you on your wedding day. Once you book your date with me, just mention that you are interested in this shot on your wedding day and we can do it! It is a great and creative way to tell your friends and family "thanks".

Classic Wedding

Thinking back to this wedding, one word comes to mind...."classic". Being in the wedding business I get to see a lot of different styles of weddings. I actually believe this is one reason that makes my job so enjoyable. This wedding was definitely a classic wedding. One that brings images of the divine art deco of the 1920's....even though I think the Jaguar they drove in was from the 1940's. Nonetheless, this wedding not only overflowed with classic style but with unconditional love. Here are some favorites!

Happy 6th Wedding Anniversary!!!!

Gosh, 6 years since Kevin and I said "I Do". Throughout my years shooting weddings, I think before my own I only understood a wedding as an observer. However, after the experience of my own wedding I feel that I became not only a wife but a better photographer. It was after my own wedding, that I knew first hand the feelings that a bride and groom have on the day they are married and I now try to capture those small moments that make that day so memorable and exciting. Then when I became a mother, again my photographs of families and children began to change because my experience helped me have a better understanding of the important role of parenthood.

Thank you Kevin for 6 wonderful years! Because of these years, I love the couple we are, the family we've become, and the photographer I am now. I appreciate your love....your support....you.

I love the church we got married at....even though it was an hour away from home. The church is in the mountains and sits atop a hill and as you might be able to see inside there is a huge window that overlooked the beautiful colors of fall.
