Celebrating 90 Years

Wow! 90 years old! We celebrated my aunt's 90th birthday this weekend and I had a great time watching and capturing her excitement on film! She was able to enjoy mariachis serenading her, good food, and all around love from her family. What an amazing tribute to her life! Here are a few shots from the party.

Does it wash out???

So my son was one of those kids you would see at the salon screaming his head off during a haircut. He hated haircuts!! I use to feel so bad for the girls who would cut his hair and hope that maybe the next time my son would have gotten use to it and get through a haircut fine. A friend of mine asked me one day if I has tried taking him to a "kid salon". She then told me about a place she had seen in Clovis called Cool Cuts for Kids. So the next time he needed a haircut, we tried the place and we've never been anywhere else since! The place is totally kid friendly and since his first visit my son has never cried while there. We love his hairdresser Leila and I completely trust her cutting my son's hair. Today we even tried gel that colored his hair blue just for kicks! Don't worry Grandma, it washes out!

The Eye of the Tiger - Birthday pictures part 2

So one of the problems with being the host of my son's birthday parties is I am always too busy running around, that I never get a chance to grab my camera and take pictures! Luckily, my cousin Natalie who is an avid photo enthusiast always has my back at my son's birthday parties! Here are some shots she got of the awesome work the clown and face painter we hired for the party Bow Tie the Clown and Miss Judy did for Elijah and some of his friends that attended the party. Thanks Nat!

Happy Father's Day....belated again sorry

Had some technical difficulties the last week with my computer system that needed tending to. Well all is better now and off we go again on the ole' blog site. Wanted to share this personal photo though. After my father's unexpected passing some years ago, Father's Day really didn't mean anything to me anymore. Just a day that was more depressing than anything else. These feelings changed three years ago when my husband and I had our own child. It again became a day for celebration for my son having such a loving father....one that I am thankful for our son having everyday. Happy Father's Day honey!

Belated Mother's Day

I consider myself a child of the 80's though I was technically born in '78. However, I feel that I was in the MTV generation. Anyway, anyone who really knows me knows that I have an eclectic taste in music. I listen to just about anything and from all genres. Well growing up I always loved the INXS video Mediate. I always thought that having the various signs to express each message was a very cool concept. However, much later I realized that it was a concept orignally done by another music artist I admire. Bob Dylan did that same thing with Subterranean Homesick Blues. Well back to the topic of photography, having enjoyed that artistic concept of the two musicians, I thought I'd try it as a Mother's Day present for grandmas this past Mother's Day and I feel that it worked pretty well....not to mention I think the model was pretty darn cute too! Enjoy!
